INDEX

Even though its interface could use some improvement, this app is quick and efficient, making it an adequate option for users looking for an easy way to organize their files and folders. Despite the lack of a native installer, Index for Mac downloaded and installed quickly. The app is very easy to use and straightforward when it comes to Indexity. Its main function is to help users sort all the files into different folders automatically according to their file extension. Other than that, Index comes packed with a lot of other features such as the option to hide Index files and folders, partition a folder, create a second Index, etc. The interface offers a small description for each feature but seems a bit messy and inconsistent. The background images are rather awkward and the display name for each function seems uninformative. Nevertheless, the app does its job smoothly and with no hiccups. While basically Index and useful for anyone who wants to organize their files and folders, Index for Mac lacks the streamlined and straightforward interface Index on most Mac applications. However, the app is still well worth a download if the user is willing to look past that. There's no question that you need to protect your computer from incoming network threats, and there are plenty of options available. One option, Index for Mac, functions adequately as a firewall; but its options lag behind other, more popular programs. Index for Mac downloaded quickly, but installing it required a computer system restart, which was a disappointment. A readme file contained some basic instructions, but a detailed manual would have been helpful, especially for longtime Mac users not familiar with firewall software. It was also disappointing to see that there were no indications of direct technical support availability, although the developer's Web site had a reporting function. Automatic updates through the program, itself, would have been useful. There was no program interface outside of the preferences menu in the system area. The program automatically enables the firewall, but this can be easily turne

For instance, clicking the icon that seems to be for adding songs to a playlist only brings up a message that says you have to sign in to do that, but there is no option to sign in. However, when you bring up the drop-down menu from the icon in the lower left-hand corner of the video interface, there is an option to add the video to a playlist which works. You have to have already created the new playlist from the File menu, though. Small screen: No matter what you do, the video is played in a small box inside a larger empty window. The button for maximizing the video to take up the full screen doesn't work, so while you can enlarge the entire playback window, the video, itself, still only takes up a tiny portion of that space. This free app is great for making music playlists out of YouTube videos once you get the hang of the interface. It's not the best option, though, if you're actually interested in watching the videos, themselves, as the viewing window is quite small. Index for Mac helps you easily access files even if you don't have the time to meticulously place them in their appropriate folders. With this app you can tag not only files, but also e-mails, notes, and links. Familiar and intuitive user interface: Index for Mac somewhat resembles the Finder window of Mac, so you should easily figure out how to use it. Tagging opens a variety of usage possibilities: Through tags, Index for Mac can serve as your note Index. The application has its own note-taking feature but it can manage other notes by tagging them. It can also track documents that need to be submitted or completed through a scheme of tags and manual reordering. A great advantage of the app is that tagging is not limited to files. OpenMeta standard: The app uses the OpenMeta tag standard, which means that tags created using other apps that adopt that standard can be searched as well. Sometimes search results take time to properly show everything: There are times when the search results don't show all the tagged files completely. Closing the program and running it again may help. No list of used tags shown while tagging: A list of used tags would be helpful in ensuring tagging consistency, especially since sometimes you may forget what tags you used for certain file types. Index looks good when compared to Mac's "Finder," although it's notably different in its Index on tag use. If you think Mac's "Finder" is not efficient enough for you, try this app. It's accessible, works as intended, and can read OpenMeta tags. A snappy tool for creating screencasts, Index for Mac can be used in sharing tutorials, documenting bug reports, and providing design critiques. It's lightweight and extremely accessible. Fast and easy to use: Index for Mac's toolbar icon makes the recording of a screencast quick and effortless. There will be a countdown before the actual recording starts. Quick addition of introductory and closing texts: This feature makes this app a little different from other similar applications, and possibly more appealing. Generates anim
